What is the fastest/flattest shooting longbow out there (according to reviews)? I'm sure I'll get a few opinions :goldtooth: ....Charlie
-
From the reports and comments :readit: by those who are familiar with Adcock's ACS CX :notworthy: , that longbow has to be near the top in your "fastest/flattest" category.
Hopefully, I will find out this year. I've been waiting a while and was told I am #30 on the list.

Only problem for me with the Adcock's is they are so hard to get a hold of...to his credit I should add...Charlie

I just shot a Centaur over the weekend, and I'm sure that these bows are a contender for this title! WOW is all I can say about them.

Moosejaw by Gary Sentman, gotta be one of the fastest.

I just recieved a new Adcock ACS CX last week. They are every bit as good as what you hear. It is 62" and 52#@29". It shoots a 520 gr arrow at 184 fps. I bareshafted some different spine axis shafts and it shot a 340 with 225 gr on the end the best. The 340 fletched with 5 1/2 feathers weighs 570 gr. Those arrows chronoed at 174. It shoots those 520 gr arrows the same speed as my Morrison Dakota but it is 58#. So far I am really impressed. This bow is also set up for hunting, with a 7 1/4 brace heighth and yarn string silencers.

Congrats! (doesn't surprise me)

i hate to burst your bubble but i got an xtreme fedora t/D long bow #47@26 1/2" draw and i shoot easton axis with 125 grn heads 5" fletch and get 200fps i think thats quick. oh i forgot to say it has osage limbs with bamboo core and a fast flight string with bever balls on it. :archer:

I am a fool, but I would put my Diamond SS Tomahawk against most any out there.
-
I love this........TTT

wolfman jeff, How long is your draw? How heavy is that arrow? I have a 560 one piece that I love. I talked to Mike about an Xtreme the other day. I may try one before I order. Are all Xtrems fast or do some just come out faster?
-
My #60 Vision puts a 500 grain POC arrow out at 207 FPS.

my draw lenth is 26 1/2 450grn all up not sure on other xtremes but mine is fast. it is the first one i have ever had and the last as they are expencive for a kiwi to buy. but they are a good bow.

my own personally buildt blackriver recurve shoots a 520 grain arrow at 184 52#@27.5" draw.it has nothing fancy, tiger striped maple limbs and clear glass,452X string and cat whiskers installed.dead silent, zero vibration.i'm building a one peice right now that'll probably be a hot rod.action boo and carbon core, tiger strip maple veneers.55@27",guessing looseing an 520grn arrow in the 190's.willreport back.not saying adcocks bows are not good, just a lot of hype that goes with them.not really that impressed.several bows out there will perform right with or exceed them with out the undo stress on the limbs that he has.
-
Jeff, you going to be at the Massey Safari ?
I'd really like to see your bow.
Look for the guy with the DAS Hunter.
Cheers.

The "Sungae" R/D bow that I built a few months ago (sold it last weekend) launches Legacy 425 gr arrows with a speed of some 195 fps. We chronoed it 10 times to get some statistics.
This bow is 61" long and pulls 45# @28" and has Osage limbs under clear glass with an action wood core.

Sid at Border Archery makes very fast, and very high quality, bows. Sid, if you speak with him, will tell you it's Adcock who sets the speed standard he chases.

I would suggest 2
First I agree with John57 that the DAS master is a great and efficient bow
also look at a Border Black Douglas with hex 4 limbs one sweet stick

The bow that will kill the fastest is the one you shoot the most accurate.
