I'm trying to fine tune my setup for shooting i am planning on hunting with my recurve this fall
when setting up to shoot where should my feet and shoulders be in relation to my target, square
os slightly open or what? i know in hunting situation it will be differint thanks Ralph.

I prefer a slighly open stance for hunting. It tends to help me with clearance of bulky huntin clothes.

It is a matter of preference. I prefer a closed stance. However, you should practice all stance positions. Since in a hunting situation you are not always going to be in the perfect stance that you want. However, both shoulders should be aligned with the target (spot). Take a look at Terry's form clock.

Yes......your shoulders should be on a parallel plane with the arrow...stance is optional and a personal preference as your form/alignment I've alway considered it from the waist up.
As you can see below, my shoulders are not pointed directly AT the target point of impact, but in the same direction on a parallel plane with the arrow....as should be your power points (wrist and elbow)

Exactly!!!!!!!!...as you should, and you should take this alignment with your to those positions by bending or rotating at the waist.

Remember though that your feet stay in line perpendicular to the target. The slightest change to your target you must change feet with it . If you just bend at the waist your draw length changes.Check it out!
