I have an older Bear Kodiak Magnum recurve. Serial # KU38151 AMO=52" @ 45#. I've gotten back into traditional after years of shooting a compound. I dont know that i'll ever go back to a compound!. I've built my first longbow a 68" 55#er, and i'm shooting her well. What I would like to know is what string length is proper for the Kodiak mag. and what is recomended brace height for this bow. I would like to use it for bowfishing. Any info would be great! Thanks

Corvid, I assume it's the 52" magnum and not the 48" Super Mag. You need a 48" string and a brace of 8 1/2 to 9 1/12" if I'm not mistaken. I know many advocate a low brace ht. but Bears normally were designed for medium to high. The string length I gave is what came with the bow. Grant
