Just lately I have started having the arrow slap the riser. Not every shot, but to often. Seems like the harder I concentrate the more tendency to happen. This is only on my longbow. Never happens on my recurve. Any ideas as to what I might be doing to cause this?

Any idea where it is slapping?

about 5/8" above the shelf.

You may be unconsciously applying torque to the grip or you may be moving your anchor point away from your face.

That's typical of an arrow that's too stiff. Add 50 to 100 grns to the tip and see if it doesn't stop. If it does, then experiment with point weight until you get something you like.
Depending on how stiff it is, you may have to go up in point weight even more, it just depends. You could wind up with 300 grns or more up front to get arrow flying right.
Strip some feathers off and do a bare shaft test at 20 yards. If you are right handed and the arrow hits left of center arrow is too stiff.
You can also try lowering brace height, but you may just have to get some weaker arrow shafts. Big fletches also make arrows stiffer. The more you add to the rear, the stiffer your shaft becomes, the more you add to the front, the weaker it becomes.

specs on the bows you shoot and the arrows being used would help.
