Title: Does anyone shoot with a second arrow in the bow-hand?
Post by: Soilarch on October 30, 2008, 12:16:00 AM
Title's pretty self-explanatory.  Read somewhere this is how Native Americans did it and was part of how they got fast shots off.

I'm not interested in the rapid firing.  Just curious if anybody practices or hunts with a second or 3rd arrow in the bow-hand.  Can it be done without torquing?  If so are there any "secrets"?

Thanks.

I have.I actually shoot a bit better that way.It keeps me from gripping the bow too much, causeing torque.I have also shot speed round,at shoots, with 1 in my mouth too.

I do it when i am stalking.  But it is just a blunt for the possible small game opportunity.  I had to play around with it a lot before I found a way that I thought was comfortable and not a hindrance.

I'd think it would be distracting at the worst possible time...and I'd rather concentrate on making the first shot count.  Besides, thats what quivers are for.

I tried it a few times but decided that it was just as fast to get another arrow out of my Lakota-style quiver.
