I understand the principle of the arrow bending after the string is released, as the arrow shaft is forced againist the side of the riser of the bow as it moves forward. I have been dealing with this for a few years now with the bows I make, which are not center shot. So the other day I decided to shoot my old Bear Takedown again. It's been a few years since I have shot it. It is a Bear Victor Viking, which I bought new in 1970. It has an adjustable left or right, spring tension Berger Button on it to absorb the sideways pressure of the arrow shaft as it is shot. So my main question is, if I take a certain diameter arrow shaft, and adjust the Berger Buttons left or right movement until the string aligns perfectly down the center of the arrow shaft, won't that basicly elminate any parodox? Assuming I have the spring tension adjusted correctly!

No. The finger release will still put a lot of side-to-side "wiggle" in the string/nock connection. Then you've still got the up-and-down "wiggle"
I'm coming from the compound world were everything is perfectly in line with the string and we use mechanical releases...we/they still deal with archer's paradox. Most of it is up-and-down wiggle. The introduction of "drop-away" rests have minimized that as well...but it's still there.
If we could eliminate paradox we could shoot insanely stiff zero-flex arrows...but we can't.

Roy try to get one of those slow-mo videos like in the black widow TNT videos. It shows arrows coming out of the bows. You wouldn't believe how much they bend and wobble.

Ok thanks.

Roy,
There are some real cool slow motion videos on a website titled Talon something or other. I'll try to find it and attach a link.

Here it is!

Roy,
Doesn't the arrow bend around the riser and not bounce off of it? At least that is my understanding of the process.

Thanks Tilzbow
