Shooting those video screens whats a good score for trad guys. I`ve been shooting on a league once a week to stay sharp in the off season, the compound guys i`,m with are scoring 210-240. I can`t seem to pass 185, trying my hardest to brake 200. Its got me thinking i need to mess with my form to get more consistent.

Hattrick, I'm doing the same thing. I'm consistent sometimes and sporadic at others. Made me think that because I'm trying to time a lot of the shots that I might be snap shooting. Its a lot of pressure when one of the compound guys I shoot with shot a 270 last week. But, like you I found if I really watch my form and hit anchor solidly I shoot a lot better. If I'm shooting good about half way through I can forget all that and really start to burn a hole. Also I found myself trying to shoot for the bullseye. If I tell myself to just shoot vitals all the way through I'd wind up with a 240. Of course that hasn't happened yet.

yep i do the same, if i shoot for the crease i end up with some misses so i been shooting for the center of the lungs in stead( larger morgen for error). The one compound guy i shoot with, crank out a 274 the other week.I dont mind the presser at all it actuly helps i think. The guys i share nights with are pretty cool even with the training wheels. One guy is even interested in getting a longbow. If i could just get through with out the 2-3 misses with no score i could brake 200. Have you broke 200 yet??

Somebody clue me in as to what this virtual target shooting thing is? Is it a web-based thingamadoodle?
I suppose I could 'search it, but I'd be more interested hearing about it from the folks here!
In any event, I wouldn't sweat the scoring; it's probably geared to favor SOTA compound shooters on account of engineering and precision.

The hardest part for instinctive shooters is that the target is always 20 yards but for us the size of the target makes it seem different.Try to get them to let you shoot last in your group so you get a chance to see more kill zones. Then, concentrate on the AREA of the screen the kill zone is in. You can prep for the shot better that way and get your form set for shots in that specific area. Pick the spot in the middle of the lane to shoot from also.

I've been shooting at my local video archery place for the last few weeks and I have been averaging 175. I haven't shot for a year before this and now have the itch to shoot all the time I just dug my target out of the snow and shot at it the other day. Hopefully I will be able to get outside and shoot more often if it ever warms up and maybe I'll be able to break 200.

Col, it basically a video screen you shoot at from 20yds,with life like video clips you have to pick ur shot opportunity's just like hunting an scores ur shot placements. Not sure of any websites, but i would bet sum high end archery shops around you would have it. Its fun. Good luck Andrew

Hattrick, only twice have I broke 200. If I could only cut out my four or five misses I think it might be routine. You'll get there shortly.

And congrats to your buddy. A 274 is the highest score I've ever seen.
