Title: Shooting Right????
Post by: DJTJR on April 04, 2009, 07:31:00 PM
guys have any of you guys ever had a bow that just shoots left or right windage wise?  I have one bow that with 4 different arrow combinations each tuned perfectly by bareshaft tuning, just hits 6 inches right at 20 yds regardless of what i do.  i have tried everything and it doesnt seem to be a form issue as my others bows are shooting perfectly and i am grouping great with it just right.  i can try aiming right down the arrow as in Gap or POI shooting and the same thing happens, after trying 4 differnet arrow combos i feel like i am going to go insane.  :banghead:
I am a a sort of perfectionist and wont be happy just aiming left to compensate do any of you have any thoughts?

If you are a right handed shooter, you might be able to build out your strike plate a little to move the point of impact to the left.  At some point, if you build it out enough, you'll have to weaken the shaft of your arrow because the tuning will change.  OTOH, having the dynamic spine of the shaft increase will also tend to move the point of impact to the left, so that might work in your favor also.

Stop peeking. Is this bow light in mass weight? I find I have to try harder to follow thru with a bow that has less weight in the riser area. I'll shoot right if i don't conciously follow thru.Heavier risered bows just sit there for me.

try put a hard pad on your window
i shoot one of rick welchs bows
he tuned it to hit where i look with a hard pad and it was hitting a foot to the right for me and a hard pad moved it that much
