Guys, I've got a problem when I'm shooting that I need some help to figure out what to do to change it. My problem is "man boobs". My left nipple is taking a beating everytime I shoot. Has anybody else ran into this, and can it be corrected by changing my stance. I've tried making changes in my form, but all that seems to do is cause a major negative effect on my accuracy.

Two things may help. Open up your stance a little or if you prefer a stance parallel to the target line, bend slightly at the waist.

Had a similar problem, lost 30 pounds and changed my stance. Turn your feet and lower body more towards the target. I bet the 30 pounds made more of a change than anything.
-
take a step forward with your back foot when shooting to open your stance a bit

I've already lost 125 pounds in less than a year, and am still trying to lose another 60. Thanks for the help guys. I'll give it a try tonight.

Congrats on the weight loss!

Target archers sometimes wear some kind of fabric guard that covers their left chest area, I assume to keep any clothing from being hit by the string. I wonder if one of those would help?

A chest protector would probably help, as McDave suggests. In addition to the stance modifications others have already suggested, a shorter bow may also help. The angle of the string is more acute at full draw, keeping it a little further away from the upper body. Another option is to intentionally draw the string into your chest/boob, but left of the affected area a little (for a right handed shooter). Then the string has nothing to catch on when you release, or at least not as much. Good luck.

Great respect for you already losing 125 pounds. I've never been obese, but when I started playing computer games and all, I definetely got chubby...
All I can say is; keep dropping the extra weight. Believe in yourself. You know aswell as I, that it is possible. Start weighttraining if you have the motivation. More muscle mass will not only help on the fat loss, but also burn more calories even when you're not active. Good luck
