Title: Is there a glove?
Post by: Boom Stick on August 09, 2009, 04:36:00 AM
I'm trying to make the switch from a tab back to glove but I can't get a deep enough hook with the glove (Dura-Glove) because the extra layer doesn't even go all the way to the middle joint of my fingers.  The string ends up going right in the middle of my 1st joints, hitting nerves,  and my finger tips are numb because of it.

I don't care if the extra layer is nylon,  cordovan, or a cute little puppy dog,  but I need some protection that can go further up my fingers.

Do you know of any brands that don't go just go past the fingerprints,  or should I try an alternative like a thick leather work glove?

Thanks,

Both the glove on Rick Welch's site - in waiting4fall's post, and the American Leather, go well below the finger prints.  Which you'll prefer probably depends on how sensitive your fingers are.  If they're fairly tough, use the one Rick recommends.  If not, and you need heavier protection, go with American Leather.

I have 3 different gloves I'm using and not really unhappy, but on 2 of my bows I've switched to the old reliable no glove. And specially for bowfishin, they do a mighty fine job.

The Stick-Tite glove that Black Widow sells allows for the deepest hook I've found. I really like the glove.
