Title: IBO Southern triple crown
Post by: Lazy Ike on February 26, 2010, 10:11:00 AM
Results for the 1st leg of the IBO southern triple crown are up on the website. If you look in the trad class you won't see Rick Welch's name anywhere.. But you might want to check out longbow results.
Also , it's a shame that Jim powell appears to be the only shooter in recurve unaided.

He's in the Longbow class. He won it by about 70pts(68).

I shot with Rick at Wetumpka. He had just finished the bow he shot two days before the tournament. That is pretty impressive. I think the guys in Longbow class are in for a long year with Rick shooting like that.

Joe , I knew that he shot a 362 in LB before I posted. I was just sort of teasing the people that like to bash Rick. If they looked at trad results, they might think , look no Ricky welch. Then when they checked out Longbow they would be faced with the harsh reality.
Foamkiller , I'm going to try shooting some IBO events this year in RU class. God help us if rick decides to try his hand at that class.

Rick told me he will be shooting in the Longbow class all year. He said that he has never shot Longbow much so he is going to see what happens this year. The exception will be at the IBO Trad World where he will shoot the Masters class.

Ike- I shot Wetumpka with the idea of shooting all of the Southern and National TC events but messed up my calender. I had the Pensacola shoot on the 19-21st instead of the 12-14th. I had made a commitment to friends for a shoot on the 13th. Plus traveling from northern Indiana to P'cola by myself is cost prohibitive. I would be very much in contention for the buckle if I shot all three of the Southerns. I hope to see you at one of the IBO National events. I will make the IBO World and the Trad World for sure.
