Title: Hitting low/left??
Post by: Buckwheaties on February 27, 2010, 04:59:00 PM
I just built some Heavy/ high FOC arrows for my never been shot Toelke recurve. Shot 2 bare shafts and 2 4x4 feathers. Results: all are hitting low left,6" low and 4" left groups at 10yds. The bare shafts are sticking w/ nock hi rt. The arrows are really close according to Stu Miller's calc. Where to start?? Not sure about recommended brace ht, set at 7.5".

lower your nock point until they fly level then either lower brace height, add weight to front, or make your side plate thinner. when they fly great then back up to 20 -30 yards and try it

Sounds like to me your nock point is to high lower it a nock set or two and shoot it again . You also may be a little stiff but I wouldnt mess with point weight untill I had my up and down fixed . Also try lowering your brace height to 7 1/4 which may fix your left groups . These small changes might just get you fixed up, let us know how it worked out .

The nock point that came on my new Tolke was about 3/16" too high. I've been shooting a brace height of about 7 1/4" and getting pretty good results.
My bow is a Chinook.
