Title: ? for Rod Jenkins school graduates.
Post by: shortstroke 91 on May 04, 2010, 09:42:00 PM
So how many of you graduates have improved? How many stuck with it for the entire 21 days without bailing on the program? And finally how much improvement did you see? I'm actually restarting the 21 days after discovering some issues.

After my "homework" was finished and I started moving back I discovered that I didn't like the anchor I was using, couldn't get the shaft lined up properly and was shooting left with the sight picture I wanted. I spent a few days getting my shaft alignment down and my anchor had to move down my face a little. So I'm starting the "homework" over to try and ingrain the new anchor to memory. I tried to switch on the fly but find I was drifting back and forth between the two so I'm starting over on the bale to try to develop some consistency.
How are you feeling these days?
Thanks for the help in the class and the follow up too, don't get that kind of help these days from everybody.

Now come on the rest of you, be honest, how many spent the money and followed the course and how many went home to the same routine?

I shot MUCH better and did well until recently. I couldn't hit a solid anchor and expand and conclude my shot. My buddy bought and gave me a lighter weight bow to practice with and I am back on track. I still get the MOBB#3 out for refreshers.

Stick with the shooting practice that Rod recommends. It will pay big dividends!

I atended Rod's Clinic in White Pigeon, Mi on April 24 & 25.  My kids gave it to me for my birthday (66 years old).  I have been shooting since 1967 and was fairly accurate until I went to a 75# bow in the late 80's and all went to hell in a hand basket.  I have been so inconsistent that, sometimes, I would cry.  My subconscious was the beast within and it was my ruler.

There were 10 at Rod's clinic and I was the last one up and, thank God, at my absolute worst.  Rod worked with me, calmed me down and explained each and every step and why. He prescribed a method of actuating the release with back tension that has taken my mind off release and has me concerned with expnsion and conclusion.  I can now hold as long as I want after hitting anchor and keeping back tension.  My release is triggered by increased expansion.  Today is day 13 and I may need more than 21 because I have been feeding that beast for years and he is ugly.

Rod has given me a plan and hope.  I can feel it working.  I now know what good form feels like and how to get there.  I know I will be better but it is hard work and a lot of self control.  This is a war and it isn't easy.  No short cuts.

Thanks and God bless you Rod.

Rick

I have not been to one of Rods clinics but I learnt a lot from MBB3. Both Rod and Larry are great students of archery and put there ideas accross well. One day perhaps Rod will do a school in Ontario, it is warm in the summer here Rod honest!!!!

Brandon:  Rod's class was the best thing I have ever done.  Followed the schedule, all 21 days, Found out, like you, my anchor was not right.  I shoot left handed and I would consistently shoot to the right.  I couldn't get consistent results trying new anchors with my hunting weight bow, so decided to get a lighter weight bow to play around with.  Just got it in, hope to get the anchor worked out soon, then back to the 21 days.  This is a great program and I would recommend it to anyone beginner or advanced shooter, I can promice you will learn something new.R.W.

Rods class is well worth your time to take. I to took his class in White Pidgeon. Since class I can tell when I make the correct shot. Before I could not tell, then wonder why shot didn't go where I was looking.
