The closer I am to the target the more I cant. After about 15 yards I am straight vertical. Does anyone else shoot like this?
The way I figure, the farther I am from a critter, the better chance I have of controling my shot angle. If I'm within 10 yards then I have to take what the woods give me.
Just curious...

I cant the bow the same no matter what the yardage is.and some bows I cant some I don't.

Inside ten yards I can have quite an extreme cant, even more so if I'm shooting a sharp down hill angle.
But past 10 yards and my cant tends to stay pretty much the same,,which isn't much at all really,,,like just point the bow out there at my natural hand angle an about that's it.

what kind of bow r u shooting ? does it shoot well virticle ?
-
Yes, it shoots very well vertical. It is a Horne's Combo Hunter.
My eye just seems to focus better at vertical. I guess I have a more "basic shooting form", from taking archery class in college, and it just seems more natural for me.

My normal angle is canted, I think I cant more the closer I get but I can't some no matter how far away I am. I lean over the canted bow and stare straight down the shaft.

if it works us it i say... i was bare shafting today and that really showed me my bad habits in a major way ... if the bare shaft flew good after tuneing and all that ofcource, it really showes when i shoot wrong in a big way.and that made me consintrate more on my form and release. i think im gonna shoot like that for a week or soo maby i can inprove my consistancy overall.
