Ok with a wheelie bow, I can pick arrows. Now that Im trying the traditional thing, I'm like an infant learning to walk. That's fine with me, I'm ready to forget everything I know and start a new.
So I'm shooting a 1978ish model Bear Grizzly. 45#, 58" bow. Not sure of the draw length but based on what I used to shoot with wheelie bow versus what this feels like, Id guess 27" or so.
Probably going to go aluminum for now until I settle on my own bow (this is borrowed from an uncle, looks brand new).
2nd part of the question is how did we get to this conclusion of what arrow to choose?

I'm pretty sure either an 1816 or a 1916 will work for you. Assuming your draw length is 27" and you cut the arrows to 28", I would lean toward 1816. If your draw length is longer, maybe the 1916. You will probably be shooting 100 grain or 125 grain points.
So what I would do is get maybe 2-3 arrows made up of each kind, and buy a few 100 and 125 grain points. Once you decide what arrow and point combination works out best for you, you can have more made. No doubt the ones that didn't work out for this bow will work out for some other bow you get later on.
My conclusion is based on arrow/point combinations that have worked out for me using similar configurations to yours in the past.

That gives me a starting point! Thanks. Are the charts the same for wheelie bows and traditional bows in terms of correct choice of spine, etc?Like say the draw length is 27" and draw weight is 45lbs?

Do a search on "Stu Miller's Spine Calculator". It'll get you a pretty dang close starting point.
Be sure you get an accurate DL measurement, or it'll skew your results.

I didn't see them till just now. Been out measuring a couple thousand feet of fence and a couple thousand feet of waterline. Shoulda took a jacket.

My setup is very close to yours. I shoot either 1916's cut to 29 1/4in or 2016's with 70gr adapters at 29 1/4in. The 1916's weigh 475gr total and the 2016's weigh 560gr. Both fly well, the 1916's just fly flatter - the 2016's hit harder. To get the 2016's to tune I bought the assorted field point weight package from 3 Rivers and then bought the PDP adapter kit to fine tune since I wanted to shoot 125gr broadheads I already had.

Thanks. I may just shoot what I have for right now. Looking into building my own stuff and would rather save my resources (time and $$ haha) for that project. I the mean time I'll work on my form.
