I am wondering what you shoot for 3D competitions? What Recurve are you shooting and what is the popular metal riser being used?
-
If I'm looking to win, I shoot a Belgian made Greenhorn B+ riser with carbon ellipse limbs. Fantastic bow, but Greenhorn has THE WORST customer service ever. EVER! I used to sell them, and it was a horror show. Don't buy a new one, you will think you got robbed, and it will show up a year and a half later with NO correspondance whatsoever during that time. I've had to refund people's money thinking they stiffed us, then got stuck with a bow a year later SEVERAL times after being assured it wouldn't happen again. But the bows are UNBELIEVABLE! Doesn't make sense.
After that, I shoot various tournament recurves from the 60's and 70's. York Constellation, Hoyt Pro medallist, Sabo, Staghorn, Bud Hit,Wing P1,etc. etc. These older bows EXCELL at 3D. Lots of fun.

Ferret, what do you shoot?

Either my Zona Custom T/D Recurve or my Sky - Sky Hawk, both bows shoot wonderfully well for me.

same as I hunt with

this topic should probably be moved to the shooter's form ... but wait, maybe we can put it all into a good perspective ...
the basic concept of the 3d event is ... hunting, not scoring. if you approach the game with that in mind, use it as a tune up for the hunt. if that be the case, as it more than likely should be, yer hunting bow would be the correct choice.
'nuff said.
