WHY?
Like the title says;
When I shoot split finger I always hit left and occasionally widely.
When I shoot 3 under I hit where I want or slightly right.
Am I getting such a better release from 3 under that the spine is going from too stiff to slightly weak?
I plan on staying with 3 under since I am more accurate.

There are so many variables in the shot execution that it's hard to say which one may be causing the inconsistency between the two styles. I'd probably have to start with eye to arrow alignment differences between your two styles, particularly if you're using the same anchor point for both styles.
I shoot split finger, and when I start hitting left, it's almost always a bow hand problem, but that wouldn't seem to fit here? :thumbsup:

There shouldn't be enough of a spine issue to move the point of impact dramatically to the right when you switch to 3-under, if it would move it at all.
It's probably worth trying to figure out what the problem is, so you can avoid it in the future, whether you are shooting split or 3-under.
If your left misses are grouping well, other than the occasional ones that don't, it may be that you are holding your eye just to the left of the arrow, rather than over the arrow. Since the arrow is closer to your eye when shooting 3-under, you may be more aware of the arrow and keep your eye over it. The occasional misses that go way left could be due to any number of form issues, as Wapiti said, and are unlikely to be cured by switching to 3-under.
But you might try shooting some arrows split fingers and make sure your eye is over the arrow. If your eye is to the left of the arrow, the arrow will seem to fly to the target from the right to the left, but if your eye is over the arrow, it will seem to fly directly at the target.

I was dealing with the same issues about a week ago after I went back to split. Had the wife video me shooting two bows....one 40#, and my 55#er. With the help of the wise guru of tradgang (who viewed the footage in slow/mo and frame X frame) it was a bow hand issue caused by failure to achieve full back tension/alignment. I was shooting everyday and not giving my muscles time to recoup (just started shooting again after 10 years off) and was shooting with pain in several spots. Guru suggested shooting every other day to let the muscles heal. I also switched from my Great Plains Rio Bravo with a neutral grip to my Hollenbeck 58#er with a locator grip. Arrows now group dead center where I'm wanting them to go.....few more weeks of every other day shooting and working on full draw/back tension I'll have it locked in. Have someone video you and watch what your bow arm is doing at/after release or post them up here via youtube for advice from the multitude of true experts that grace this site.

Have you shot paper or bare shaft. that could tell you if is spine or more likely shelf contact. If you don't see anything there it would point more to form or anchor point.
I do see some spine change between the two, but not that much. I see more of that from anchor point differences and eye location. I shoot less can't for some reason 3 under and that changes things some.
