What do you use to anchor and where?I am shooting a recurve and want to try 3 under but can't decide where to ancor.
-
I use the corner of my big mouth. I been thinking of going a bit higher, though, maybe to the cheekbone.
-
I anchor with my thumb behind my neck and hand along my face.It is a two pint contact anchor.
-
Index finger in the corner of my mouth with the web of my thumb around the back of my jawbone. Like Legends, it's a two point anchor that's a lot more solid and stable for me.
-
Index finger on my cheek bone. Its a high anchor and I guess I see the arrow peripherally
-
-
Index in corner of mouth.
-
middle fingie in corner of mouth, knuckle of thumb on highpoint of cheekbone...
-
Thumb knuckle behind under earlobe and tip of nose slightly touching feather.
-
Leveractionman- I have been anchoring with my index finger on my canine tooth. I like to play with things in the off-season so I have been shooting with my middle finger anchored on my canine now. If you are a gap shooter it will bring your point on closer using you middle finger.
-
Middle finger corner of mouth, touch feather with left side of nose, thumb knuckle under earlobe.
-
Index finger to the corner of my mouth and cock feather to the tip of my nose.
-
Tip of my middle finger to the corner of my mouth, cock feather just touching the tip of my nose.
-
anchor is the same for recurve and longbow, middle finger corner of mouth. ( how I grip the handle however changes). I find 3 fingers under makes me lower my bow holding arm thus takes my eye further away from the shaft.
-
Cheekbone....I just started doing that way and it works well for me...I also touch the feather to the nose. I really am enjoying working hard on my form and anchor.
-
Thumb knuckle tucked at earlobe/jawbone... string on eyebrow and cock feather on nose... just started doing this and it gives me a repeatable anchor(s) and an inch more on my draw length... which helps since I had a short 25" draw length.
-
My index finger behind my eye tooth & my thumb nuckle behind my jaw.

index finger in corner of mouth, thumb around jaw bone, feather just under my nose. proved to be a consistent anchor.

pretty much the same but my thumb knuckle is higher. It hits some cartildge on my ear above the lobe.

I am a two under shooter because of my long draw length and because I simply get cleaner releases with one less finger involved.
I put my index finger in the corner of my mouth and ignore the arrow, focusing on my point of impact.
If you are switching anyway why not give two under a try.
