Title: How's My Tab Fit?
Post by: Fisher Cat on May 03, 2011, 11:04:00 PM
I recently switched to a tab and am wondering how you all think it fits.  Should I trim the lower edge?

Fisher,

Check the length with your fingers curled around the string and see if there is excess hanging over your fingers-don't cut too much off - if you do, there is no going back!

Thanks Don, I'll give that a shot before I cut anything.  Looks like I'll be able to remove a little. - John

I recently too got a new tab and it fits much like that.  My problem wasn't the length but that bottom edge hanging out too much.  If I trim it flush though I'll be cutting through the backing stiching.  My small woman fingers lack the number of calouses and are too skinny.  Makes it hard to find a tab but maybe I have a chance at being a hand model.

crandog, i sent you a pm, but will try to explain. if you make a small cut (1/4-1/2") from the bottom of the tab upward, just in front of the stitching, the tab will better fit your hand.

just a thought.

Just a note.  In my opinion, you now own the best tab available
