Title: Wow Does That Ever Work!!
Post by: Caleb Andes on May 08, 2011, 09:46:00 PM
So I have always heard shooting one arrow at a time and retreiving it and not shooting groups makes you a better shooter faster..

Well I was shooting terrible today so I threw my other two aside and stuck with one

From 10-25 yards I only missed the bullseye 5 times in about 30 minutes of shooting before it got dark. I couldn't believe it!!!!   :archer2:

Most of you that frequency this page would have probably given me the same advice when my shooting went to heck but if you are not just shooting one arrow at a time. I strongly suggest giving it a shot! (no pun intended)

Archery once a certain skill level is attained it's all mental, in my opinion if you cannot shoot groups then there is a lack of mental discipline somewhere, if you think about it you only ever shoot one arrow at a time even when shooting groups.

I'm not saying anything wrong with shooting one arrow but you may need to address something in you mental approach to shooting groups.

Fear of toasting a $6 arrow with the next one is a real concern.  I solve this by using a bag target with five 3" bullseyes, each in a 6" black ring.  If you put one arrow in each of the five . . . that's a good "group".
