It seems that when I practice shooting from a hunting stool that I shoot high alot. I come to full anchor and still use my swing draw. What possibly could be the problem, is it common or just an issue with me. I shoot instinctive split finger with a straight wrist recurve with on bow quiver 58" bow with 27" draw. Left and right are good but just high, sometimes as much as a foot at 20 yards.

I do the same when trying to shoot "squated" from a stool. I simply have a hard time shooting from a stool that is short. I think it has something to do with being bent over, or contorted. shoot much better if can have a stool that gives me more height, like shooting off of a barstool. I have a "stool" that attaches to a tree and then I can set the height of my sitting positon. It limits your ground blind locations. I shoot far better kneeling than sitting. Something about being all cruched up that throws it "out of whack".

Practice, practice, practice. Your probably hunched up when sitting, with your face pulled into your chest. I know I am. Adjustments have to be made. I do the same thing when shooting from my ladder stand while in a sitting position. Make sure you practice in the same clothes you will wear when hunting, as well, especially if you are using a Guille suit. Good luck and enjoy the experience.

Your back is bent, moving your head closer to the arrow, it's messing up your mental sight picture. Either get a stool that lets you sit and shoot with a straight back or practice with the same stool you plan to hunt with. Different stools will cause you to "hunch over" differently, which will cause you to shoot differently. Bill

I always shoot high when I'm kneeling or sitting. I think it has to do with compensating for the lack of stability through the legs by throwing more arm muscle into the equation (bad form, I know, I'm working on it) The bow seems to 'jump' upwards for me on release...I have to actually aim a tad low.

Thanks Skinner that makes sense I may need a little higher stool as this one is really low.

Shouldn't make a bit of difference. Kneeling, sitting, squatting etc. From the waist up nothing should change.

Yea I am trying to fix that part for some reason a low seat makes me scrunch, I guess its my leg positions, I am trying different seat height and so far if I have a seat that puts my knee bend and hip bent close to 90 degrees I am able to keep the T.

If your knees are much higher than your waist, it starts stretching your lower back and you have to use your abs more to keep your balance, when you start to draw, your torso muscles are already stressed so you are really straining, so you hunch over to take the stress off your abs, which puts your eye at a different angle...do you began to see the problem? Easy fix, get a different chair or practice from the short seat. Your muscles will build up if you practice regularly and you will get the organic computer recalibrated for the different angle. Bill
