Soooo.. I think I have read about this somewhere before, but I just started doing it.
I get to my anchor point, and lock in with back tension. Then, to trigger my release I push the bow forward with my left arm and pull the string about 1/4" further back with my draw hand (rt. hand) simultaneously. This auto triggers my release.
My groups were PRETTY good before I started doing this last week, but this seems to have really sealed the deal.
I think that I am forcing back tension by doing this even more so than I was by locking into my anchor.
Is there a name for this??
Thanks

Ya, if you are doing it correctly, it is called expansion. Both the press of the bow hand and the increasing pull with the string hand are motions that are subtle and not readily seen unless you are videoing. It is a continuous movement, not a "stop (or lock) at anchor".

If you watch the olympic archers, this is the way that many of them shoot. If you can perform the technique correctly your shooting will be excellent.

I've heard it referred to as "coming to conclusion".
Yes, there should be no visible stopping point, but you should "keep pulling, keep pulling, keep pulling..."

Sounds good to me. Some guys like to push; some like to pull, and a some like to push and pull. It's all okay, just as long as you don't soften/loose tension.

Push/Pull Creates a great release and more consistent anchor and follow thru. Standard form that is always recommended to all shooters!

I have a phrase for it....I call it 'Evolution to Execution'.
