Hi all,
ive got this kind of new to me LB,kind of new to me becuase ive cut it down in length to get more #s. Now it is mild reflex 47#@my 30" and 65";
Ive made up some arrows for it, Beman Mfx Classic 30,75"; 16grain Insert, 125 grain tip, 10 grain 1" footing; The bareschafts fly like darts and broadheads group pefectly with field points (10 gpp).
Shooting it today i noticed the following starnge thing.
When i cant it normally like my Bob Lee Signature to position A (see below), my groups are not as tight as they could be, say aprox. 15 yard shots 15" groups.
When i cant it very strong to position B the groups tighten so that most feathers touch each other.
Position A (slightly lesser cant then shown, hard to show this way ;) :
..........*....
.........*.....
........*......
.......*.......
......*........
Position B:
..........*....
........*......
......*........
....*..........
..*............
What could this be? Is it jsut me getting used to the LB or what?
Bareshafts fly fine, Broadheads too;
Tillers OK(ive meassured it);
No limb twist visible;
Thanks for any idea.

There must be something about your more severe cant lining up your arrow more constantly under your eye.
I think if you keep that up, you will learn that lineup/sight picture and will be able to repeat it at other cant angles.

I am sorry I can't give a definitive answer, however this past weekend I was lucky enough to shoot with a world and national champ. While shooting at the targets we came across one target that was on the slope of a hill. He said to me now watch the way I shoot this target ( they were paper targets, dots ) Instead of holding his recurve vertical he slightly canted it to the right, and I mean slight, he hit dead on at about 40yds. uphill. He then took a shot at the same target and held vertical and hit left.
His bow is a old Wing recurve and he shot off of a super T 300 flipper arrow rest.
Hope this information helps.

I'm with Terry.

Possibly you may be applying slightly more finger pressure on one of your bow-hand fingers when you cant the bow and that is changing bow response when you release? Just a thought.

When you cant, are you just moving the bow, or are you bending at the waist?
