You fellers that shoot three under...what do you do with your thumb? When shooting split I usually catch it with my pinky. I believe it twist my hand on the string and shooting three under its not comfortable.RC

I bend my thumb at the joint and put that joint on my earlobe, right behind my jawline. It is my primary anchor with the nose on the end of the cockfeather being my drawlength check and secondary anchor. The string hits my right eyebrow right above my eye.......so I guess you could call that my third check-point.

This may help ya I had a similar question awhile back.

My thumb is straight up, like a hitchhiker :) relaxed and just infront of my ear.
I don't see alot of people shooting that way, but it works for me. My hand is more relaxed that way, and I feel I get a better release.
With my thumb tucked in I am more prone to torque the string. Also with the thumb out of the way I can get tighter to my face and the arrow is directly under my eye.

My right relaxed bent thumb locates as a soft anchor just under my ear lobe behind the jaw bone.
Have opted personally for this location vs the earlobe since I routinely find myself shooting low do to unkowingly creeping up and locating at a higher position.

Whether I shoot split or three under, my anchor position does not change. My thumb is still tucked over my pinky's finger nail.
