Title: Practice pays
Post by: Llamma1 on October 27, 2011, 07:27:00 PM
I've been shooting every day for the past few weeks. Even if it's only for 15 minutes. I'm shooting every arrow in the kill zone at 20 and most of them at 30. It feels good. Going to hang up my compound for 2nd season and take my self bow. Might even sell my compound and get some more traditional gear. Already sold one of them. Would like to get a little heavier bow for elk. I'm lucky yew grows out here like weeds.

I haven't used my compounds in a few years, just let my nephew know that if he wants one it's his.

You won't regret it, much more fun too.

Good luck.

Something satisfying shooting tradional. Simplicity yet with practice, like you are putting into it, is quite effective.

If you shoot your Trad bow with the same control as your compound then grouping consistent 20y kill shots is normal.

Shooting a Trad bow with compound accuracy is possible but shooting with the same consistency as a compound is the real challenge, I know I wont be able to do it but it never stops me trying, I think this is what draws me to this more simple style of shooting.
