Hello,Ive been reading for sometime and not posting.I have shot compound bows for around 30 years now.I shot quite a few deer and turkey no monsters but some were good sized and I had alot of fun.I taught my son and my wife to shoot and they both love to hunt with a bow and feel like I do that its easy with a gun and archery is more satisfing. We all shot in 3D shoots and have alot of fun together.I guess I always wanted to try Real Bows so about 3 weeks ago I started a new adventure.Got some help from a friend and bought a takedown longbow from Mark Horne.I live close to Mark and he has been helpful and understanding.I can not put it down.It is so must fun and flustrating at the same time.Im working on my form and a new set of muscles. It is a Blast.Sorry for the long post Im really not long winded. Thanks Alvin

This year I went trad. Bought a 35# recurve for practicing and cant put it down. In fact I'm soo happy, I bought another recurve for next years deer season. Its a 45# Bear Grizzley recurve (at a good price) I figure my muscles will be ready by then. I wish my wife was as happy as me. Oh well, sleepin on the couch with one eye open
is'nt too bad. :biglaugh:

I shot a solid fiberglass recurve as a kid, then graduated (digressed?) to a wheelie in Jr High, then to a longbow in college and have never touched a wheelie again. It's been around 14 years. It's a little like crack, without the side-effects, interventions, etc. I'm sure my neighbors think I'm nuts flinging arrows around the yard, but I think they're nuts too.
