During the winter months it's already dark by the time I get home. Plus with 2 young children to help with homework, get fed and get ready for bed my shooting time really takes a hit this time of year. Can anyone help me out with some drills I can use during the day to work on my form and consistancy?
I've got a formaster that I try to use, but not as much as I should. Also, I'm hoping I can come up with something I can have in my office and work on from time-to-time.

You might pick up a "Thera Band" or "Thera tube" to work on your draw and release sequence. Easy to put in your pocket or carry and will help keep your form working correctly. Much easier than using a bow especially in the "office."

I have set-up an up-to-10 yard range in my basement using a bag filled with plastic straps hanging from the rafters and blunts on my arrows. Due to ceiling height, I shoot off a chair to avoid smacking my upper limb tip into the ceiling. This is shooting primarily for form but gives me the opportunity to shoot my bow during these cold winter months. On my days off, I try to get to the 20 yards indoor range so I can vary my shooting sessions. If I go early enough, I'm the only person on the range and can do a bit of walk-around shooting to various distance and sight picture, not to mention shooting from different body positions. Best of Luck!

The offer is still open to come by the shop and shoot. Bring your lunch and a bow! Chris

Check this out: www.Bow-Trainer.com (http://www.Bow-Trainer.com) I have one and it's great. Just a few minutes, 6 days a week, keeps your drawing muscles in shape.

That's by far the best idea, Chris. I need to try to get up with you soon. Maybe next week I'll be able to work something out.

If you shoot in your back yard all you need to shoot at night is a shop lamp shining on the target. You don't need a light on you to shoot.

@Sirius Black: I am a newbie. Been hunting successfully for several years with compound and hope to transition to trad gear this year. Do you think the Bow Trainer you reference would be good for someone just starting out? It looks good, but I am specifically concerned that I could end up developing some poor form. Thanks!

King, sent you a pm. Thanks!

I use a cheap slingshot with a heavy band during the school year. I can work on back tension and if I set up a pillow I can use marbles indoors(think 7-10 foot range). I work on keeping a steady bow arm and maintaining back tension. Can't work release that way though)

The trainers are cool, I have one, but I like arrows in the air.
I bought a small Spider Web target and have it set up in the house. I only get eight yards, and that's shooting from the kitchen into the utility room. I can grab the bow and shoot a few arrows anytime...just need to make sure I know where the cat is.
