With my daughter home from school sick and turkeys on my mind I thought I'd get some video of me shooting my red oak board bow I made. I'm going between this bow and my take down recurve. Not looking for opinions about which is better. Just wondering if you guys see anything I could improve on. Enjoy!

Its kinda hard to critique what you can't see. You need to show string hand side and closer to see what is going on. However your bow hand seems to be steady, thats good.
-
The main problem is that you are drawing with your left hand. This clearly needs to be corrected. :biglaugh:

Thanks for the idea Mr. Crow. We'll see how my videographer is feeling tomorrow. Maybe I can get a few more vid's up. Um Mr. Gringol, clearly you don't turkey hunt. Don't you know they always come in from the right side? I shoot lefty so my draw is covered by my body! :coffee:

You don't look too bad from that angle...but like stated...can't see much.
How long ya been shooting?
-
From what I can see you're looking pretty good. Seems nice and smooth. Are you hitting what you are aiming at?

Thanks for the encouragement. I've been shooting since high school, early 90's. But this bow in particular since last year when I built it. I've been shooting a recurve my mentor and I built back then.
My accuracy is usually pretty good. I get a squirelly arrow every now and then but I usually can tell I did something wrong like pluck the string or drop my bow arm. I was really struggling at first because I think the arrows I built for it were really underspined. I grabbed some other cedar's and they seem to shoot much better for me. As long as I can get close enough to the game, that's the other half of the game. I'll see about some different angles over the weekend. Thanks again fella's.

Well, got one more videoed. Technical difficulties with the camera. Without further ado:

Let me know what you think!

The only thing I caught was you had two static releases and two dynamic releases. Not consistent on the releases to me which my be the cause of your flyers.
-
It also appears that you lean your head a little forward which will shorten you draw length, and make it harder to engage your back muscles.
-
It's funny, when I 'm being videoed I'm so much more focused on my form. Didn't think of the head thing. I think I'm trying to get me eyes in line, I also have back issues that carry up into my neck. Not making excuses but maybe that's why my head is forward. I'm gonna try to focus on that. Thank you for the input.
In regards to my release, I noticed the some thing while shooting yesterday. Another point well taken.
Thanks for the watching and heloing me out.
