I recently moved my anchor from the corner of my mouth to my cheek bone... I deff like the new anchor however I feel that past twenty yards may become difficult.. I shoot instinictive/gap kind of a mixture esp out past 15 yds.. Debating about switching back to my orginal anchor because I feel that longer distance would be easier to judge the gap... Help

What's your normal hunting range and how far are you copmfortable shooting? I know a few folks who anchor so high that their point on is 25 yards, couple this with the fact that most of their shots are 20 and under and a high anchor makes a little more sense for them.

What is your point-on distance with your new anchor?

If the new anchor is working good for you then stick with it for awhile. Your brain will adjust to the different sight picture needed to get hits.
Just me, but if I found something that made me more comfortable and accurate at 20 yards and in, I would stick with it. That is where all of my hunting shots have been. I have had opportunities at longer than that but I didn't feel comfortable taking them.

My point on distance is 20 yards.

You could approach it like this. I use to walk my face "gap shoot" with a 3 under and that was my same 20 yard mark(anchor). My index finger "Pointy finger" was wrapped around the cheak bone and ring finger was in the corner of my mouth. 25 yard mark I would slide down my face were my middle finger was now in the corner of my mouth and @ 30 yards my index finger was in the corner of my mouth. I could roll down my face out to about 60 yards keeping a different piont-on by changing my anchor. I hope this helps you.

twitchstick, I will have to give that a try. I noticed that you said "I use to walk my face" why the change?

i achor high by my eye point on 20 yards and been pretty lucky with itbut i also practice my longer shoots by just aiming higherwith practice its just as good as anyother way. thats my beleif i like what feels confrontable

Don't know how much extra arrow length that you have available. Your point-on distance will be noticeably extended if you can shorten the arrow by 1/2" or if possibly more.

I must be doing something wrong. I shoot split and anchor with the middle finger in corner of mouth and first finger tucked under cheekbone and my point on is 45 yards. If I shot 3 under same anchor I imagine it would be down in the 20+ yards. I like to shoot long distances and this anchor is good out to 60 yards no problem.
