you guys that have been to school, in your opinion do you stick with the style and form you learned or do you add bits and pieces to make it work better. Have been studying Rick Welch's techniques and shooting better than I ever have, if I studied something else they might teach different style, is it better to stick with one and make it work for you or study them all ?
Thanks ahead of time Andy

If you are shooting better with Rick's stuff , then stick with it.
I have all the mbb dvds as well as ricks and most of the other ones. I watched them all over and over and every time I did, I picked up something new. No harm in trying alot of stuff. Just don't get caught up in trying to make something work for you that doesn't .

I think my problem was that I tried too many combinations until it got complicated. I bought all the DVD's, watched youtube videos, read, etc. I wasn't achieving the results I wanted either. I decided to step back and evaluate exactly what I wanted out of my shooting and what type style I wanted. Rick Welch's suited me best and I went to his school.
Best thing I ever did for my archery. I don't deviate from his system, and don't want to.

Thanks will head your advice as if something works stay with it, I have been shooting fast bows for 26 years and trad archery off and on but the past 6 months really devoting time to trad archery, going back to Africa in Sept. for my eigth safari but really want to take some animals with my longbow. Thanks keep the input coming

Honestly... if you are wanting to bowhunt Africa, I would spend the $500.00 and go to Rick's school. Your confidence will go up and you I would bet money that will be ready to shoot Africa.

Sorry forgot to mention have bowhunted Africa seven times, have killed animals from genets to hippos and on my last safari killed a bushpig with my recurve, just want to kill more traditional style. Will take your advice and see if I cant fit a little schooling in before Sept.
Thanks Manitou1

I suppose, if I could find the time in my busy schedule, I would tag along and wash your arrows every evening, adjust your nocking point, and check your fistmele... kind of an archer's caddie! Have a great trip. Send some pics and stories our way here!
