I know if we wait until the perfect time to shoot we probably won't get to shoot much, but how much do you guys think being tired effects your shooting? I definitely catch myself short drawing and dropping my bow arm if I am very tired after a long day at work. I still shoot simply to wind down and 'cause I love it, but it's easy to get sloppy results. What do ya'll think on this? Less shooting under better conditions or shoot when you can? Just wondering. :archer2:

Definitely a shorter training session is called for after a hard day at work. Maybe just go for 20 arrows at a comfortable distance and try to make the most out of it. I think one single arrow shot with absolute concentration goes a lot farther than 50 pressed on at the end of the day.

Heck, I enjoy shooting so much that there are days that well after I become fatigued, I am still flinging arrows. And, flinging is the operative word because I do reach a point where I am doing myself no good, and perhaps inviting bad habits and or injury. As for beginning my session when I'm already beat up, I try to shoot fewer arrows and really concentrate on form. It's tough though because I love seeing the arrows fly. :archer:

Might pick up some bad habits shooting tired especially multiples for groups. Yet, what would you do if chasing a 6x hours on end over top of a 7500' saddle only to be left with a quartering 17 yard effort? Just suggesting there is a time & place to MAKE yourself manage a tired shot! Like single arrow shot practice concept especially when tired.

....treat your body better, train hard, eat well. Or, find an indoor sport like darts.

I agree that shorter shooting practice makes better shooting and more accurate. heck many times after my 12 hour shift, I just shoot one or two just for form. That doesn't mean I don't go out and have fun. I just seperate the two, like when me, brother and nephews go stump shooting, I just have fun and try not to worry to much.

if you have a place where you can walk and shootwith a judo point you might get more focused. it adds a new dimension and is a better way to beat the boredom of targets.
