My bow has a shelf but My fletchings still hit and cut the top of my hand.I'm sure its something I'm doing wrong just haven't figured out what yet.My question is, how do you guys shoot off your hand without cutting the crap out of yourself?

I know what you are talking about, this was a common problem with my longbow. I worked around it adjusting the fletching position relative to the nock but finally settled for a bowhand glove, instant relief.

I have had to tape mine.Had blood all over my arrows.

Are the front end of the fletches skived, cut on a real fine angle to shaft? If not take a razor knife and skive them down. Apply a drop of cement to the arrow/shaft joint too. Then take some sandpaper to knock any sharp edges off them.

Wrapping the tip of the fletching with silk thread set with ca glue will solve.your problems too.

Thanks fellers

If you move your nock up a bit higher it will resolve the problem. I have never had a problem with the fletching cutting my hand. But wrapping thread in front of the fletch will add extra insurance.

Smoothed it out and helped some but didn't solve it completey.I'll try and move my nock and see what that does, thanks.
