Title: Going to a sight?
Post by: d from phx on July 02, 2012, 09:19:00 PM
I am considering putting a sight on my SF Premium Riser for some Indoor shooting. How much of a transition from bare bow will there be? Any help will be appreciated.

Well, you can do it.  the transition will be easy, just as putting a sight on anything (rifle, bow, etc)  But I do want to give you this advise that I personally found.  Decades ago, we will not go into that, lol.  I shot my compound and recurve.  Try as I did, I couldn't master the traditional bow so alawys hunted with compound because I feared wasn't good enough.  then one year I dedicated to mastering the traditional shooting without sight, harvest few animals.  then next year I as playing around and got compound out and shot it for while.  then I hung it up and grabbed my recurve.  Guess what, I came to rely on the sights and lost the instinctive sight, was all over the place.  For me I could not do both.  a sight will without a doubt make you more accurate, but I feel it too will be a crutch.  Again, it is just my opinion and what didn't  work for me, am sure in time can train yourself for both.
