So, I picked up a Black Widow split finger tab. I was shooting with a glove split finger. Immediately it seemed to tighten up my groups. I shot one 5 inch group of six arrows at 15 yards which is the best I've ever shot. I think the tab forces me to hold my fingers properly and forces my release to be better because my fingers are in a consistent position. Is this your experience? Are tabs easier?
-
Not for me.

try a cavalier tab your groups will tighten up even more....

I think it is an individual thing. I started with a cavalier tab and it worked fine for me. I tried a glove one day a few years ago and my release instantly felt better. In a way I would like to use a tab, they are more convenient for me but a glove just feels so much better so I stick with it.
It is good that you found a tab that works for you.

i love my black widow tab for that reason too
i also switched to 3 under my average 3d 28 target score is 190-220 now while before i was 150-180

I use a saunders synthetic tab. I like it because the string comes off of it real smooth, it doesn't retain a string groove, and best of all it's weather proof.
-
I'll try it for awhile, and then maybe go back to the glove for funzies. I found it interesting though. :)

I think it's definitely an individual thing...I shoot ok with either Widow tab or one of my multiple American Leathers Gloves but I find that I do tend to be more accurate with the gloves so I stick with them exclusively...haven't touched my tab in over a year... :dunno:

Started shooting around 1957, stopped in 1974, went back to Trad. in 2008, went to a tab a year ago and never looked back. I use a Bateman tab which from what I was told is the original cordavan leather from Japan.

I use both, just depends on the mood. I stringwalk and seem to use the glove as well/quickly as the tab.
-
It's a personal issue. I shoot better with a tab.
