Title: How to draw
Post by: BigBucksnTrucks on September 14, 2012, 04:29:00 PM
I've been shooting traditional for a couple years, but still consider myself a beginner.  I have a question regarding drawing the bow.  I've searched the web but couldn't find anything.  How do you all draw the bow?  I've noticed I draw it while I'm rasing the bow to position, once in position I set for a second and release.  But I've noticed on some videos archers raise the bow into shooting position and then draw.  Is one way better or more correct form?  Or is it just a preference of what works for you?

i like to raise the bow to position before i draw. less movement and more time to hold at draw while focusing on target, seems to work best for me.

Do a search on youtube for Moebow1 (Moebow here on TG)  He has an excellent video on the rotational draw, and other helpful form videos.

preference.

 - for heavy tackle a swing draw can help most folks handle drawing more weight. I dont like it though it is too much movement while drawing. I point the arrowhead (generally) focusing on the spot - draw to anchor - hold just a second - let er rip
