I have decided to help speed up my transition to traditional shooting by attending a shooting class. Looking for recommendations of where to look. I have spent some time researching Rick Welch and what I see looks pretty good. High reviews for what he puts on. I like that he has a hunting flavor to his teaching. What others should I look at.

well i have never been to MR. WELCH.but i just got back from spending 2 days with rod jenkins in AL. all i can tell you is it is the best money i ever spent on archery. rod will not only teach you how to shoot. but how to correct problems with your shooting. rod has been a coach to jimmy blackmon and alot of other great shooters. you will get your money's worth with rod. by the way. you will have alot of work ahead of you after you get back home with all the drill's and such that he will teach you. good luck with who ever you go see.

I went to Rick Welchs shooting school last August. It was great. I learned alot. Rick as a no frills approach to teaching. He keeps it simple and you learn to shoot what your looking at. I think the most important thing I learned at Ricks was when a shot goes left right up or down I know or have and extremely good idea as to what happened when I shot. I found it to be money well spent. I wouldn't mind going to a shooting school every year just to stay fresh. Good luck wherever you go and remember your in a great place right here on Trad Gang! Ive learned a bunch right here.

I'm going to Rod Jenkins clinic in Texas at the end of the month. There are several folks that highly recommend him. He seems like a really fine fellow, and from what I hear from friends he's a super instructor. I know a fellow that went to Rod's clinic a couple years ago that is one awesome shot (SUP Bisch)!!!
Tracker come on down, we'll make room for you:)

I attended Rick's course last year and it paid off. My hunting improved and my confidence and consistency went through the roof. This is my third year as an archer. Last year, prior to Rick's course I was shooting around 246 at 40 target 3d courses. When I returned from the course I shot 326. My first course this year was a 346. Rick's a hunter and a shooter as is Mr.Jenkins. I would like to attend his course as well. They're both the real deal.

Just got back from Rick's course this past Wednesday, you will be amazed at what you will accomplish in two days, and like stated above, if a shot goes awry, you will be able to correct it on the next shot, you will also be able to tune your bow like never before, you will also learn to shoot properly from a tree stand. I highly reccomend Rick, he is also a great down to earth person

We just finished up a Shooting Clinic with Rod Jenkins here in Santa Fe - and boy was that an eye-opener. Highly recommended.
I'll be starting "the program" tomorrow, but I can tell you Rod already pointed out and offered solutions to 2 big issues I've been fighting (plus many smaller issues of course ;) ).
I have no doubt that his coaching and going through his program will benefit my shooting tremendously.

I have been working with Joel Turner. He is a great coach. Give him a call 253-686-3623. He may be able to help you over the phone.

Call Rod Jenkins and talk with him. He is a down to earth person. Easy to talk with. Class is awesome.

Rick Welch is the real deal. When you come back, you will know what you did wrong by where the arrows land on the target. You will get one-on-one training. He will build you some arrows that shoot best from your bow, saving you the tuning time. If you take notes, you will refer often when you get home. I can still hear Rick standing behind me taking me thru each step. He's one heck of a nice guy.
You get more than your money's worth.

I never been to a "school" or class but I have watched most every vid on shooting made I think. I enjoy them all.
I have always shot instinctive without any notice of the arrow best I can tell.I do not want to learn to gap or aim with any reference for aiming. Not that its bad its just I have spent years shooting instinctive and it works for me. Shooting using what I have learned from a borrowed Rick Welch volume II my accuracy has improved by bounds. That alone makes me recommend his class and I`ve not even been. RC

Call me. I went to Rick Welch's school. I'll teach you for free! If you're willing to travel and pay for the hotel, I'm your man. If what I teach you is BS, all yo're out is travel. I'll work with you for a day or a week. It's all up to you. If you think you gained something, pass the word, if not, we'll have fun!

I wish Rod or Rick would go to Compton Rendevous or Kalamazoo show some year.

I've been to both Comptons and Kzoo 3-4 times and Denny Sturgis and I plan to attend Comptons in a couple weeks.
