I shoot three under, anchored under my cheek bone (high anchor). Today, I tried anchoring under my chin with my thumb locked behind my jaw bone. The anchor point was a lot more solid, which also allowed me to keep my bow arm lower. The problem is than I rubbed a spot along my cheek (jaw bone area) at the anchor point, which became sore. Is there a better location to anchor rather than under my chin, which will allow me to get better string alignment and won't cause so much irritation on my face? I was thinking an anchor more in line with the tip of my nose. If so, where should my double anchor be?

By "under my chin" do you mean you are trying the target style of anchor? Where your entire string index finger is under the jaw bone? Really need to see a picture or two.
With any anchor position, the string should not come so far back as to be able to "scrape" the skin on the face/cheek. When the string is released, it should just leave the face by moving straight out from the face.
Post a picture or two of the position that is causing your problem that is the best way for us to help.

You're correct in your understanding of my problem. Yea, I was trying anchoring under my chin (under finger under chin). I was also placing my thumb at the back on my jaw for a secondary anchor. This type of anchor caused the string to be further back on my face, along the cheek. In thinking about trying the corner of my mouth anchor, like you appear to use. This should bring the string forward more on my face. I think I will be able to still reach the back of the jaw with my thumb as the secondary anchor. What are your thoughts?

lbf,
Have you looked at a video I did called "release tips?" It shows how I anchor and is found on YouTube. Do a search for "TheMoebow1." The thumb, for me, doesn't go behind the jaw, only the web between the thumb and index finger hood the back side of the jaw. The thumb lays under the jaw bone.
The under the jaw anchor for target shooters is for using sights and is problematic for barebow shooters. It just creates too large a gap between the eye and the arrow nock for any of the barebow shooting methods.

Moebow1,
Ty for the vids on youtube. I have since increased my dl 1.5" and reduced noise and shooting more consistently and more accurately in one afternoon! Ty sir for your time and info!

Have you ever determined your dominant eye? If you are shooting righty, but left-eye dominant, you may be turning your face into the string trying to line up your dominant eye?
Just a thought...
