I can't really visualize this unless you have an extremely high hand on the grip.  Usually folks that have the feathers hit their hand are shooting off their hand (no shelf or rest on the bow) and then it is the lower hen feather.

Can you post a couple pictures of your grip?

I really hug the shelf with my hand and have had this happen before to me, the fletchings (not sure if it was the cock feather, I wouldnt imagine so) was actually cutting my knuckle open just like as if I was shooting off my hand.  anyway it happened when I was switching arrows and it turned out the new arrows needed to be knocked quite a bit higher than the previous ones to fly straight, once I did that the problem with the fletchings went away. I think the arrow might have actually been striking the shelf in some way not sure what the actual problem was though. hope that helps some

I think you've got a clearance problem. Maybe turn cock in. Maybe your arrows are too stiff.

Curious... what's the bow weight, and what arrows are you shooting.

I'd bet on the arrow tuning also, my hand is right up to the shelf, and the arrows I shoot that are not tuned as well as the others, do hit my hand.

P.S. The arrows that hit my hand also show too stiff of spine.

I had this problem with my Kodiak Magnum, which I shoot with a high wrist that put my hand very close to the shelf. What solved it for me was switching from right wing feathers to left wing. For some reason that fixed it for me...    :dunno:    Maybe it will help you???? Good luck, and let us know when ya find something that works.

Sometimes this happens to me when I increase the brace height and forget to raise my knock to adjust for the change.

I'm too inexperienced to be offering advice so I'm just passing on what I recently read; possibly Byron Ferguson's book. The author said that in shooting a longbow (right handed) if he used right wing fletching the feathers contacted his finger. Left wing fletching worked for him. That was his only observation regarding right wing vs. left wing fletching.
