Do any of you shoot both rh and lhanded bows? I'm thinking about it because after a year of dedicated right hand shooting it feels like my back/shoulder muscles are somewhat unbalanced. Maybe worth looking into a bow trainer...but a left hand bow is probably more fun than a trainer, right? Just wondering if anybody else does this.

This has come up before, and a number of us have learned to shoot both ways. My objective is the same as yours, to keep my body in better balance. For about a year, I would alternate days shooting right and left handed. I never got very good shooting left handed, but I did get very bad shooting right handed. I quit shooting left handed for accuracy every other day, and my right handed shooting has recovered. I still have the objective of keeping my body in balance, so I shoot a few arrows every day left handed, close to the target. I hold for longer than normal each shot, 5 - 10 seconds, since the main objective is strength and not to wear out my joints by shooting a lot of arrows. I enjoy it, I'm sure more than I would enjoy working out with left shoulder exercise equipment. Plus, it is fun to be reasonably competent shooting left handed so I can demo a left handed shot to left handed archery students.

I switched to LH shooting a few years ago to match my dominant eye. Had shot RH for over 20 years prior to the switch. I continue to shoot RH on occasion and still use a RH bow fishing setup. I'm a better shooter LH but my 3D score was only 30 points less the last time I shot a course RH. The nice thing is that you can shoot any bow just to see how it feels. I have shot way more RH custom bows due to my friends all being RH. I think you are on the right track....Since I draw and hold the same poundage from either side, I do feel that my muscles are more balanced and I try to keep it that way.
Take care,
Jason

I shoot both right and left handed all the time, same draw weight, about 60 pounds and similar accuracy...sometimes I seem to shoot better one way or the other so when hunting season comes around I make a choice daily...I am not in love with tuning but I will have one right handed and one left handed bow nicely tuned...that also gives me a very familiar back-up bow...I even have a dual shelf r/d longbow that I created from a blank with the guidance of the bowyer
