As many of you know, I shoot 2u, like a modified split. I have always shot split, but for some reason i started getting some horrible finger pinch a couple of years back. I have done everything I could to get rid of it, but it just wont go away. I think part of this is having a longer draw(nearly 30"), but i just can't deal with the pain. It will get so bad that I can't shoot my bow anymore.
Has anyone ever had this problem and SOLVED it?
I have made sure my elbow is down, using back tension, etc. I just can't figure it out.

in the last 2 years I've had horrible pain on the inside of my finger index, I also shoot split. I thought it was a high elbow causing pressure of the nock on my finger but it wasn't. Thought it was my brass nock so tied one on instead but no help. I'm not sure what's causing it and could be more of a fingernail (ingrown nail of somekind) or something like that. I use to shoot a plain old flat leather tab for over 20 years but due to pain now shoot a blackwidow tab that has some felt that covers that area of my finger. It still hurts just not as bad as my old tab. If I shoot a dozen arrows I'm done for the day and can see that part of my index finger is inflammed. Who knows and will follow this post for any ideas/suggestions:)

I am in the same boat. I have been thinking it is an ingrown finger nail as well. I have done my best "surgery" to clear out anything that my be in there, but it still hurts. I swapped to 2under, just leaving my index finger off and I like it a lot. It is just a little different.

I'm not sure as to the cause of your troubles but when I first started back with the trad I had some trouble until I got my sea legs back under me. During this timeframe I used superglue on the inside of my index and outside my third finger. It's like having an instant callas that really helped me.

Some things to consider. Due to the angle of the forearm, wrist and hand, as well as your natural cant and head angle, many folks fingers point downward slightly, thus applying pressure on the inner index finger. Many of us can't shoot a tab for this reason....even with a spacer. Finding a comfortable and protective glove is a huge help, making sure you shoot with a deep hook, and shooting arrows with larger nocks such as parallel woods with 11/32" nocks.
Also, if you pluck the string as opposed to pulling through the shot you will get a lot of extra pain due to the hand movement involved in the collapse/pluck.

I THINK I figured out what was going on with my finger pain. My hand was twisted as you stated when at anchor which caused a lot of pressure on the inside of my index finger. I started trying to mentally twist my wrist while shooting yesterday and it helped. I also have started tinkering with 3u. I am really liking it. no finger pinch, that is for sure.

Three under works really well for lots of folks, and solves the finger pinch part of that problem for sure.
