I had my Adkins breakfast provided by my Northern Mist Sheldon and RFA Talon.
I bet if you get close enough you can smell it...lol

Man it has been years but I can taste it right now. When mom would make squirrel, gravy would be on the walls after we ate. You need mushrooms and fresh bread!!!
-
Mudd, could you pass me a leg? Only one thing I love better then fried squirrel is squirrel stew. Hmmm Hmmm
-
-
Mudd you are cruel.
Jack
-
There isn't any breading on it if it makes it easier on you Jack...lol
But man! Was it ever tasty!!!!! :bigsmyl:
God bless,Mudd :archer:
-
Mudd,
There ain't no batter but by the looks of it you put some of Paula Deans favorite ingrediant in that pan...BUTTER? :biglaugh:
-
There ain't nothin prettier than squirrels in a pan, ceptin maybe squirrel on a plate.
Here's a couple that I fixed. When I only have one squirrel I usually have a big bowl of grits on the side to fill me up.... :biglaugh:

Great pictures! Thanks for sharing.
Wondering why I am so hungry right now....

Too late Ron! My breakfast has already been eaten so there's no way to ruin it...lol
:goldtooth:
God bless,Mudd
-
now ron don't go and get everyone started on the subject of grits all over again. :nono: :nono:
-
Nice !!! I am hungry
that is good PROTEIN
-
It's 2:40 and I haven't have lunch yet!!
Looks good....
-
Mudd, That you can put in your oatmeal rather than your mackerel. And grits would go good with that as well. :coffee:
-
A teflon pan?
Mudd, take a tip from Ron's picture and find yourself an iron skillet. :readit: You CAN taste a difference. :saywhat:
-
My stomach just grumbled!!!
Magnus
-
Dang guys, that looks tasty!
-
That has to be before the gravy was made.
-
Looks like some fine vittles there Brother MUDD :notworthy: Where's the grits!!!! :banghead: :goldtooth:
-
Has anyone tried making some up like hot wings? I want to give it a try this year and I imagine its pretty good. My dad makes a breaded recipe that isn't bad either.
-
Mudd and Ron, don't worry now, that 6.2 richter scale rumbling from north TX is not a quake, it's just my stomach after I looked at those frying pan pics! Those are some mighty tasty looking meals you two have fried up, thanks for posting the pics.
-
It's funny how you can see a picture, and your mouth starts to water, and you can taste it...Just from a picture.
-
Mudd,
That sure looks good. Can you have some cooked up for us when me & Shawn get there? I'll even bring my own grits! Oh yeah, a pot of coffee would be nice. Seeing as how you had yours this morning, maybe you could make some gravy with it so I could pour it over my grits. Long as I'm wantin', some home made biscuits & fried eggs would be nice. Looking forward to that breakfast tomorrow!
-
Hey Butch!! Butch!! Yo Butch!!! Wake up buddy!!! You've fallen asleep and must be having some great dreams because you're slurping and drooling. Come on buddy it's time to wake up and go to bed.

God bless you bro!
Mudd
PS: you're :deadhorse: :nono:
-
Can someone take a photo of grits and biscuits and post it? I don't know what they are.
Weet-Bix is pretty standard breakfast fare in Australia, and has been growing muscles on muscles for a long time.
-
Mudd,
Looks like you and I had the same breakfast yesterday. I think the only difference is my breakfast is really more like my supper but with the sun coming up instead of going down (3rd shifter). Looks tasty nonetheless. Nice shootin' and I'm sure it tasted DELICIOUS!
-
Thanks Ben ! X2 cheers Pete.
-
Think iron skillet, iron skillet, iron skillet. That little wimpy pan you have has no place in the kitchen.
By the way I love squirrel and gritz
-
But Mudd, :deadhorse: are easier to catch!
-
Good luck on your diet. Adkins was the easiest way I have found to loose weight.
-
I do like grits but I gotta admit that mashed taters with squirrel gravy can't be beat as a side with your fried squirrel. Of coarse that's not allowed on the atkins diet.... :nono:

-
I don’t understand this diet stuff. I spent a lot of money to get this waist line so why would I spend a ton more to get rid of it :dunno:
-
If the Atkins diet says you can't have the taters and gravy, then load up on squirrel meat...there's five of em in this big 12" skillet.... :goldtooth:

Joey's right Mudd - it has to be in cast iron like Ron's. It makes all the difference in the world. I second the grits - goat cheese grits go well with tree rats.
-
Great now I can't wait for squirrel season to come in....thanks Mudd ;)
-
Ron,
Looks like a deer just stumped in your tater's ...Can you see the deer track? Man Ron yours take best show for making my insides growl!Forgot to mention you need to get one them plates with Pine needles or acorns stamped /painted in them ...The roses are too classy and only for the Rich and famous...
-
I ain`t even hungry, and my mouth is waterin`!!!
-
looks Interesting very Interesting Mudd.
-
Ben, squirrel and grits are an American thing. I've lived here 20 years and still think some of the food is funny. Weet-bix and vegimite on toast are still my favorite breaky foods.
-
One squirrel won't do it for me. I need two squirrels, with all the fixings, for a meal.
-
I was feeling hungry till I heard razorback bring up vegimite.
-
Ben, seems lke 'grits' is a state of mind more than a food. :D Lots of mystery to it but from the vague description on Ron's old post sounds like some sort of porridge?! Made from corn/maize.. hey that sounds like mielie pap! Now we're talking! Mieliepap, phuthu, phosho, papa, sadza -the stuff that fuels Southern Africa, it's also a state of mind!!You have to eat some to know it. That's my take on 'grits'. Any South Africans or Zimbos who have had grits want to comment?
chrisg
-
It's just "Southern Tofu"!!
Takes on whatever flavor you want to put it with or over or on.
I think it's best left alone, period, cause it doesn't even make a decent rat bait....lol
God bless,Mudd
-
How in the world did this Atkins squirrel thread get turned into another grits debate?? :readit: ..... :biglaugh:
-
Yall are trying to get me to ruin my computer with drool aren't ya!
-
I am innocent!!! I didn't bring it up!!
But I did rise to the bait.. Just another "sucker!" huh?
God bless,Mudd
-
Last year a friend of mine got me back into squirrel hunting after he showed me a better way to skin them and my neighbor showed me a better way to cook them. I can't wait for the season to start. Man, those pictures are making my mouth water!!
-
Ron,
I wish you lived closer. We could go to Mudd's house & eat tree rats & grits. All the time whoopin' up on Mudd for not eatin' any. I'll have to say tho, that Thursday,Mudd made me the best pot of whole bean coffee ever! I don't guess he's all bad.
-
the way we live brother
-
