I know this should be in the recipe section, but i dont think many people look in there. so if we could just keep this here for game day that would be great.
I use to make Chili different every time, some were good, some not so good. I decided a few years back to start writing everything down so i could repeat a recipe when i made a good batch. This is the recipe i ended up with.
3# venny burger
1 29 oz can hunts tomato sauce
1 29 oz can hunts diced tomato
1 15 oz Swansons chicken broth
1 15 oz can each dark kidney, black, and pinto beans undrained
1 large onion diced
1 large bell pepper diced
1 large stalk of celery diced
3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon accents (optional, but makes a huge difference in taste)
2 teaspoons black pepper
2 teaspoon cumin
2 tablespoons chili powder
Brown the meat in a large pot. add all the diced vegetables, and the seasonings. cook until the veggies are tender. add all the other ingredients, and bring to a boil, turn heat down, and simmer until done.
This is a great basic chili that everyone can enjoy, but can be modified to your taste very easy. I usually add a little more heat to my bowl. We are having it today for the game served with Fritos, cheese, green onion, jalapeno, and sour cream on the side. Enjoy!! Go Pats!!

Gonna move it there but leave a copy here. Wish more people would use that section. Could be a lot of fun :archer:

This looks good so I'll give it a try. I just have not been able to make a decent pot of chili in a long time. Thanks!

Just wanted to let you know I made this recipe for chili today (with one minor addition: I like it a bit spicier so I added 2 diced fresh jalapeno peppers, seeds and all). It turned out great and is now my #1 Chili recipe.
Thanks chromedome!

Well if Bisch made it and likes it I'm gonna give it a try. Will add the Jalepeno. Want to try it 2 ways, with first the burger, then small cubed pieces of venison sirloin . Thanks Chromedome!
