I will be going to Hunters Point, north of Presque Isle, in 2 days, wife is going along and hunting also. Will be heading across Penn. 80 and then jog up and across 84 thru tip of NY, into Conn and then up across Conn, then Mass and up 95 thru Maine. Any good local flavor dives for me and the missus would be appreciated, especially regional stuff and seafood in Maine.

Take 1A East out of Bangor towards Bar Harbor and stop at "The Lobster Pound". Road side dive with fresh lobster and clams. Awesome. We stop every time we are in the area.
Good luck.

There is a place called The Taste of Maine that is right on rt.1 in Woolwich, just across the river from Bath. It is always a dinner stop for me.

I can second the Taste of Maine. Lazy Man's Lobster is good stuff! All the taste and none of the work. The lobster rolls are good too...so are any combos that they offer..

1. Muddy Rudder in Yarmouth off of 295
2. Taste of Maine in Woolwich
3. Sarah's in Wiscasset
4. Captains fresh idea Waldoboro
5. Offshore in Rockport

Go to Portland. Go to Street & CO. Get the Lobster Fra Diavolo.
Or go to Fore St. Get the steamed mussel appetizer.
Dang I am getting hungry. :bigsmyl:
Two of my favorite restaurants of all time.
