Hello all,
Although i find it hard to see hogs as dangerous game, i see alot of hog threads on here so i figured this would be tghe best place to post.
ok heres the situation, i need to find a place in the south for me and a couple of buddys to hog hunt in the south. I see alot of good things on Georgia public land but man, i cant find any info on anything o their site! Anyways we are all expierienced woodsman and have killed many, many deer, we just want something new.
We dont care about size, just looking for alot of hogs and oppertunities. looking to hunt in july or august if possible. So if anybody has any info, it would be greatly apreciated. Thanks and God bless,
Dalton

I hear good things about Ft. Stewart in Georgia. Never hunted there but plan to some day.
-
I found that researching, is that just military hunts or is that open to the public?
-
It's open to the public. A group of "civilians" from here in Michigan went down last year. You might want to PM RC(Robert Carter) I believe he hunts there on occasion.
-
Cool, ok will do man thanks for the info!

Ft Stewart is open to civilians. YOu just have to have a hunter safety card and get a base pass. The pass is around $60 I think.
Be sure you have their check in/out system down and remember to use it.

Some of the WMA's that hold hogs, like Ocmulgee, Horsecreek,
Chickasawhatchee, and Altamaha, open for small game season Aug 15th. That is a good time to
stalk hogs with a bow.
If before Sept 10, I do not think you will need
an out of state big game license, only a Hunting
and WMA stamp.

Thanks for all the info fellas, i will keep all of this in mind.
