Title: Bitzenburger Long Bow
Post by: archeryjerry on May 23, 2003, 01:26:00 PM
Seeking information on long bow.
73&1/4" long with 4" grip leather wrapped.
Upper limb 35&1/4 lower 34
upper stamped with number 38
lower stamped with number 8
There is a decal logo on the bow shaped similar to a shield with the name Bitzenburger across top lower portion has a target with 3 arrows in target.
Best I can tell the bow is somewhere over 40 years old. Maybe more.
comments appreciated

I know Bitzenberger Machine Tool also sold bows as well as their immortal Fletchmaster, but I'm not sure they made them. No clues other than that.

Henry Bitzenburger made very nice longbows. I'm not sure when yours was made but my guess would be in the 40's. He also made broadheads. If you have a picture send it to me at [email protected] Be Safe. Dave
