Could use a little help figuring out what I may be getting and what it may be worth.I'm going to be looking at a Bear(the guy said it was a "Polaris")with an ambidexterous shelf.He's kinda brokering it for his mailman,so he's really not sure if it's a recurve,static,or longbow.Any help or do you need more details?Thanx

Jim....I'd bet you're refering to the Bear "Polar" recurve that has an ambidextrous shelf. Check under recurves on Ebay for pics as they are very common Bear classic. Usually go for $75-$100 depending on age and condition...TF

JIM - You are probably looking at a mid '50's Bear Polar. I have attached a couple of links that may help you date the bow. They are also interesting reads

If the bow is in good shape, I think that is a good price, but more as a collectible than a shooter. Just my opinion
