I was recently given an old grizzly from a family friend. From what I can tell I think it's a 52 maple with blond glass serial # 14775 B 49#. It appears to be in good shape. It would be fun to hunt with such an old bow do any of you guys still use the old statics for hunting or just for fun?

Hunted with a 53 Kodiak static a few years back.

Yeah I use one now and again, it works just fine.

I hunted with a static Kodiak a while back it is a 1952 model 64" and 47#. Beautiful blonde glass and a 4.5" Maple overlay transitioning to the tip. I had another one with a cloth overlay in the same area; but I think I sold it. The Maple is way nicer.
I have hunted with the same year Grizzlies too. The bows are fun to shoot but there is a little 'thump' that becomes apparent if you shoot them too much! :archer2:
Beautiful full bodied buck!!

Thanks guys. I've been shootin the old girl the last few days and they defiantly do have a different feel but I'm gonna make it my mission to get some meat this coming season with it, and heck if I don't its just cool to be able to carry something that's been around that long. Bert that buck is awesome!!
