I got lucky I hope payed $80 for it from kawvalley archery in Manhattan Kansas. He said he didn't know much about it he really only deals with compounds.Traditional bows shops not around here.Sorry back to my question its a The Stick long bow signed Howatt 55#@28 inches serial number is 71341. Trying if made by Howatt or Martin and how old it is thanks for any input

Serial numbers alone can be difficult on Howatts (as well as Bears and others), so pics of the bow and labels are needed by the experts, even Larry Hatfield. Martin took over Howatt in 1976 and believe this bow came along after that.
They made some great shooting bows, but unfortunately, I do not put this bow in that category. I had one a few years ago and it kicked like a mule. I believe folks with short draws shooting lighter weight bows would enjoy it more.

The 'stick' long bow was a Martin design...definitely after 1976

I'll try to post some pic here I go ,I hate photo bucket.

the serial numbers on mine are 71543 and I bought it new in 2000, so with your numbers being lower its older than that.

this is from three rivers catalog in 2000.

Thanks arrow 30. I don't get any hand shock like others have said I shoot with my tactical shooting gloves I use for pistol shootings. Tried them one time and on all my bows I got tighter groups so I wear them always when I'm shooting. I really bought it because price was right but more than that it works in my blind my other bows are to long.the only way I can use them is when I make my blinds on the spot. but I do love how it shoots
