There ought to be a law that if you score a bow deal like someone did today on a '58 Kodiak, 60", 47#, in very, very good condition, that you either shoot the heck out of it or flip it quickly to someone who will.
I didn't bid, but two characters sat on either shoulder here for the last few days trying to influence my decision:
"Go for it, that bow is a shooter and the price is likely to be depressed by the vague description."
"No, you already have the same bow in 58#, which is how you know it will be a shooter, plus a 48# Grizzly. Not to mention two old selfbows, one of which is the smoothest of the bunch here. Plus the billets for that takedown that are undoubtedly ready to be worked on. And the tax return needs attention ..."
I sure hope the fortunate buyer shows up here. Just don't be telling us it's going on the wall! Fred wasn't making wall queens, you know.

"There ought to be a law"...and you didn't even bid?? :dunno:
Keep in mind that Fred made several thousand of these, and another will show up real soon.

I am all too aware of the frequency at which certain bows appear. I feel a little like this guy at times:
"But I'm trying, Ringo. I'm trying real hard to be the shepherd."
-
I hate to say it, but I'm pretty sure I know who got that bow. I have a sense because I emailed him the link when it first went up, since I knew he was looking and he was geeked.
I'll confirm tomorrow. Either way, snooze/lose rules always apply. ;)

Yup, my buddy got it.

This was a bow I have been after for 2 years. I let one slip away a year ago. I was fortunate enough to get 2 58 Kodiaks yesterday. One 60"47# and the other 60" 50#. Both in really nice shape.

I picked up a factory camouflaged 58 Kodiak recently. It's a fabulous shooter. 52# @ 28 and 60"

Congratulations to both of you! Gotta go lie down now until the urge passes ...
