Title: Feather rest
Post by: cacciatore on July 29, 2014, 04:56:00 PM
How many hunt with a feather rest out of the old Bear?
I have a clean Kodiak 59 with the feather rest on,but I don't have much experience with it since I like to shoot off the shelf.

I have a Trap feather rest on my 59 K and it shoots very clean. Actually better then off the shelf depending on your setup!

I love the feather rest (especially those from Trap).  It may put the arrow just a tad higher off the hand, so shots a little high may happen at first.

Larry is correct..."shoots very clean."

I'm somewhat surprised more folks are not using the feather    :archer2:

I have a feather rest on all 3 of my vintage Howatts and agree with Larry . The bow shoots very clean with excellent arrow flight.

I have three 1960 Kodiaks that I shoot with the original feather rest...when I want to shoot a bow that is forgiving of minor form errors I shoot one of them

I have a Trap made rest on several 59 and 60 Kodiaks. I also put one on a newer Fedora and a Schafer. I think they improve the shooting of most any bow.

As of today I have four original featherrests...my Kodiak Deluxe also has the original rest...I like to say those rests cost me an average of 700 dollars each with the bows thrown in

I have a  trap rest on my 1960 and my 59 Replica. Hunt with them often and love them for sure.

I have a Trap rest on my new Bear 59 and one on my 58. Love em both.
